The Joint Library
The Library is maintained jointly with the Society for the Promotion of Roman Studies (E mail office@romansociety.org) and in association with
the Institute of Classical Studies of London University, at Senate House in Malet Street, London WC1. It now contains
over 110,000 volumes, and c. 600 current periodicals, thus forming an
important collection for the study of the ancient world. A collection
of over 6,700 slides is also held, including some made up as sets with
notes. Members resident in or visiting the United Kingdom may borrow
the Societies' books and slides, either in person or by post. Books which
belong to the I.C.S. may be consulted, but not borrowed.
If you decide to use the Joint Library, having joined the Society, you will
be issued with a Library Card and a Library Guide on your first visit.
You may also use the SAS Common Room at the Institute of Historical Research, where light refreshments
will be available.
