Frequently Asked Questions

Membership

If I join the Society during the year how long will I have access to the Library? The membership year runs from January to December. If you join, for example, in March your membership will expire at the end of December that year.

What happens if I join the Society at the beginning of the Academic year? Members who join after 1 September may either join for that year and receive the print journals published in November, or join for the following year, in which case they can use the Library, borrow books and enjoy the other benefits from the date of joining, but will not receive their print journals until the November of the following year. For example a member joining the Society in September 2015 can either:

  • join for 2015 and receive the 2015 publications (in November) with access to the library until January 2016 or
  • join in advance for 2016 with access to the library from September 2015 to January 2017 and recieve the 2016 publications.

If joining between September and December please indicate clearly on the application form whether you wish to join for the current or next year.
