Journal of Hellenic Studies

The Hellenic and Roman Societies gratefully acknowledge all review books sent to their review journals: theJournal of Hellenic Studies (JHS), the Journal of Roman Studies (JRS), and Britannia.

For some years, publishers have asked us to include their websites and marketing department contact details in the reviews sections of our journals, but we have been unable to do this through lack of space. We are now, however, delighted to inform publishers of books on Greece and Rome that we are now hosting (through the websites of the Hellenic and Roman Societies and our Joint Library) the contact details and direct links to websites of all those publishers who send review books to us.

JHS , JRS and Britannia endeavour to review as many books on the Greek and Roman worlds and at all academic levels as space in our journals permits. All review books are received at our Joint Library in London, and they are listed in the Library’s monthly accessions lists, so our members know these books have been published - whether a review is actually featured in our journals or not. This allows publicity to every book we receive. From 2004, the monthly accession lists of the Joint Library have been made accessible via our websites and will highlight the books which have been sent for specifically review by their publishers. In this way, we hope that we can give the maximum support to Classics publishers, and the details of the books sent to us for review can be consulted for a longer period on-line, and by a wider audience than just the subscribers of the Hellenic and Roman Society journals themselves.
